Food trucks are booming across the Central Valley, and they sit at an unusual intersection: part restaurant, part vehicle, part event vendor. That means the insurance is a mix, too.
What a food truck typically needs
- General liability — customer injury and the foodborne-illness exposure that comes with serving the public; commissaries and events almost always require it.
- Commercial auto — the truck is a vehicle, and your personal policy won’t cover business use.
- Property / equipment — your cooking equipment and the build-out.
- Workers’ compensation — required in California once you have employees.
- Liquor liability — if you serve alcohol at events.
The COI that lets you book events
Most commissaries, farmers markets, festivals, and private events require a certificate of insurance — often naming them additional insured — before you can serve. We issue those fast.
